Sustainable Urbanism for the 99%

Atul Sharma A few weeks ago, I had the good fortune to attend the Summit for the Next Urbanism in South Beach, Miami. It was attended by some of the brightest young minds in the fields of architecture, urbanism, real estate development, law, activism and non profits, all of whom deeply cared about the future of our planet. I came away deeply inspired by such a creative and dynamic group of professionals.
As a part of the summit, we were asked to present ideas and thoughts that we were truly concerned about. This notion of sustainable urbanism for the 99% is something that has always fascinated me persoanlly. Here are some initial thoughts.
NOTE: Even though I work at Torti Gallas currently, the project in India I refer to towards the end was something I worked on while at Urban Design Associates. All images related to that specific project belong to Urban Design Associates.
